<aside> 🛠 I think one of the most important skills for a new designer is to learn to develop your design vocabulary. Think about it this way, If you were training to become a chef you would want to learn all of the kitchen basics, how to chop vegetables, how to prepare different types of proteins, when to use baking soda and when to use baking powder, etc. Those fundamentals are important, but just as important is to taste delicious food, to try many different types of food, so you have a good handle on techniques and flavors.

The parallel in design is to learn your UI design tools, like Figma, but you need to develop your vocabulary for how websites are typically designed, what are the conventions for iOS and Android devices, etc.
