<aside> 🎤 I am not a big reader, but I consume a lot of audio content. If I’m interested in learning about a topic a podcast is usually my first option, these are some podcasts I’ve enjoyed over the years. If you’re looking for a solid podcast app, I personally use Overcast.

What Is Wrong with UX? — Users Know
In their own words “the podcast where two old ladies yell at each other about how to make products suck slightly less.” Laura and Kate are great fun and they have tons of practical advice from working in the industry.
There’s a line I keep coming back to (paraphrasing sorry) “*Designers want everything to be perfect right off the bat, like diamonds, but diamonds take CENTURIES to form, think of design more like a pearl, where you start with a tiny little imperfection and it becomes stronger over time”. If you’re curious… How pearls are made. How diamonds are made.*
Some of my favorite episodes:
One of the longest running podcasts about UX. In earlier episodes the hosts would interview different folks in the world of UX. In more recent years they focus on broader design topics.
The favs:
Jaren Erondu and Bobby Goshall interview directors and VPs of designs at some of the biggest tech companies, there’s so many nuggets of info in each of these episodes. You rarely get to hear from folks at this level and I think I learned a lot from this podcast. I keep coming back to the episode with Rochelle King on the importance of designers learning about data.
Some of my favorites:
One of the longest running podcasts about design, Roman Mars walks us through interesting problems in the world of design, architecture and many more.
Some of my favorites:
This is not a design podcast but it’s a great podcast in general, the chemistry between the hosts is great, they are great at creating a rich and compelling narrative podcast, I think it’s helped me become a more engaging storyteller.
